TAGHI - Acronym for "Tet Ansanm Global Health Initiative" - became formally organized as a Not-for-Profit Organization when we incorporated our first Chapter in the State of New York on October 18, 2011. We then incorporated our Florida Chapter on December 18, 2020. TAGHI is classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) entity. Our headquarters is in Orlando, Florida.
Our movement started in February 2010 after the devasting January 12, 2010 Haitian earthquake that left hundreds of thousand dead. We volunteered then in various places in Haiti, including Cite Soleil, Kenscoff, Gressier, Miragoane. Our efforts continued to take shape in Haiti in the Fall of 2010 during the Cholera epidemic when we once again volunteered, this time in Saint Raphael, Haiti, saving countless lives. The movement was initially organized as an informal Non-Profit Organization on May 15, 2011 when we founded TAGHI in New York with the goal of converging efforts of different professionals, volunteers and benefactors with the common goal of taking on monumental tasks of restructuring and supporting failing health institutions in underserved areas. Our first such project was in Saint-Raphael, Haiti, where we were invited to support the only local hospital there that was on the verge of collapsing. With no external financial support or any type of grant, we took on the task of restructuring, financing and running that hospital. We ran the Saint Raphael hospital for several years until they became self sufficient and took over their own administration.
“Tèt Ansanm” is Haitian Créole for “Heads Together” or United Front.
Tèt Ansanm Global Health Initiative (TAGHI) is an Abrahamic 501(c)(3) Not-For-Profit Organization that is dedicated to significantly cut down preventable morbidities and mortalities in underserved areas by decreasing health disparities and improving health equity.
We are a grassroots movement that aims to make, not only tangible and visceral, but also statistically significant positive change in people's lives in underserved, underprivileged, and rural areas throughout the globe.
Help decrease health disparities in underserved communities locally and globally by supporting us. Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission and is tax deductible.
